Hold still....

Oh dear I am not so good with the 'regularly' posting to my blog. Anyway here is another piece of art that i have recently finished for the beautiful Ruth, for a monthly project. I am trying very hard to stretch myself a little and to that end I have started using white gel pens in my art. I have also used a most gorgeous piece of maybe (?) wallpaper in the top right of this piece. Some of the gals who went to Melbourne with me in May might be able to clarify this as I brought it back from Melbourne after attending the art retreat - and I have no idea who gave it to me.

I also wanted to share this photo I took yesterday. I am calling it the "funky flower" so if anyone out there in blogland knows it's real name I would love to hear from you. For the past few weeks every morning when i have been looking out my kitchen window i have seen these buds forming on my vine (it seems the neighbours vine has grown over the fence to join my vine, as I know I did not plant this). Anyway.... i have been waiting very patiently for the buds to open and reveal to me the flower. So as you can imagine it is a nice surprise having quite a few of these flowers (or are they weeds???) smiling at me each morning when I look out the window.

These look almost like passionfruit flowers - not quite sure. Can I see some of the leaves?

Hi Gaye,
Luv your latest piece of art!
Could the funky flower be columbine? Whatever it is, it makes for a great photo. :)

General concensus said Passionfruit flower...I am hoping you got some wonderful passionfruits this year!!! (I'm not much of a gardener, I was thinking some type of clematis???)

Your piece for Ruth is beautiful and I love that old wall paper at the top. I received some of that too...I think it was in the little package from Jo Wholohan. OR a pack I bought from Jo Stables at the art retreat for one of the classes. Love what you have done with it.

I am sure it is passionfruit too. Throw the fruit whole into the freezer if you get over loaded with them, yummy treat in the middle of winter.
